Dallas Area Rapid Transit will operate shuttle buses instead of light rail vehicles at certain stations due to planned system maintenance and repairs in and around the CityPlace/Uptown Station tunnel.

DART will operate shuttle buses instead of light rail vehicles between the Pearl/Arts District Station and the Southern Methodist University/Mockingbird Station on June 9-12, and between the SMU/Mockingbird Station and the Walnut Hill Station on June 23-26, a news release stated.

Regularly scheduled light rail service will resume on the Monday morning after each service event, according to DART officials.

These maintenance and repair measures are part of DART’s State of Good Repair program, which ensures that the light rail system is able to “operate at a full level of performance,” the release stated. DART will replace a failed transformer in the tunnel, conduct concrete repairs on the elevated station at Park Lane Station and replace a section of rail north of the SMU/Mockingbird Station.

Shuttle buses will be operated by a third-party charter bus company and will not be DART branded, according to the release. Passengers should look for charter buses at the red "rail disruption" bus stop signs near each station to board a shuttle bus.

From June 9-12, shuttle buses will replace light rail vehicles between Pearl/Arts District Station and SMU/Mockingbird Station. Red Line and Blue Line passengers will transfer to shuttle buses between Pearl/Arts District Station and SMU/Mockingbird Station. Orange Line trains will only operate between the DFW Airport Station and the Pearl/Arts District Station. Northbound passengers should board a shuttle bus at the Pearl/Arts District Station to the SMU/Mockingbird Station to continue to their destination.
