Member profile: Tracy Ruckel, Community Impact Newspaper
When you want to find out the latest news about Richardson, Community Impact Newspaper is where to look. It’s also the best place to get the word out about your business.
Ambassador Tracy Ruckel is an account executive with CI News who helps local businesses with advertising campaigns.
Owners John and Jennifer Garrett launched the first edition of Community Impact Newspaper in 2005 with three full-time employees covering Round Rock and Pflugerville. Now, Community Impact Newspaper distributes hyperlocal news and information to millions of local residents and business owners each day online and monthly by mail.
According to its website: our mission is to build communities of informed citizens and thriving businesses through the collaboration of a passionate team. Community Impact Newspaper is vested in the communities we serve and has dedicated reporters in each community who attend city council and school board meetings. We are among the first to report on local business, transportation, education and health care. Our staff serve on chamber boards, volunteer with nonprofits and are involved in our communities to make them a better place to live and work.
Tracy has worked in the advertising industry for more than 20 years. “CI has built an innovative advertising platform that allows businesses to target customers at the neighborhood level,” he said.
His chamber involvement began by attending the Wednesday BizNet breakfast meetings. He now is an official ambassador.
“It helps me keep abreast of new businesses starting up in town as well as events and ways to help support the community,” he said.
“I volunteer to let local business owners know that I am a trusted resource for businesses to market themselves to the Richardson community. We are very invested in building relationships and helping foster thriving communities, and the chamber helps me fulfill that mission.”
