Ten years ago, Mary Anne Thornton was a young intern with the Richardson Chamber of Commerce.

Today, she is one of the Chamber’s top ambassadors.

“The staff is so friendly and supportive, and the ambassadors are a fun group that enjoys supporting one another and the businesses that call Richardson home,” she said.

Ambassador Club members are liaisons who serve as the face of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. Ambassadors represent, promote and encourage participation in the Richardson Chamber, while maintaining contact with new and current members.

In her current job, Mary Ann is a branch banker who works with individuals, businesses and non-profits for multiple account needs. She works at Pioneer Bank, which has been serving Richardson for more than 30 years.

But how does her work benefit her ambassadorship, and vice versa?

“I have a well-rounded background in financial services through insurance and investments, merchant services and banking,” she said. “This knowledge helps me with my customers whether they are personal account holders or businesses.

“I love forming new business relationships with my fellow ambassadors and getting to know them and their business or the business they represent better.”

Mary Ann grew up in Richardson, graduating from J.J. Pearce High School. She currently lives near Addison with her husband, Chris, and two cats Sushi & Eggroll “Eggy.”
